Hi there !



I can't send or receive emails in Bangla (composed using Avro and Unicode) from or to any Yahoo email address. I mean normal Bangla text do not appear -- only meaningless strange symbols come out. But I can do this using Gmail and also the desktop email client I use - Incredimail Xe (latest version).



I can use attachments, but I don't want to do that. I just want to type in directly into the body section of the email.



So what can I do ? Is it possible to type in and display Bangla unicode inside the body part of the email and send or receive it to or from a Yahoo account ?

As far as I know, There is no difficulty to send Bangla Unicode mail using yahoo...

I assume that, the problem is in your software [email client], But, I haven't test it...

Just tested it, and found no problem in Yahoo mail (see the attached image)

YES! If your browseris IE, then I think I found it. In Internet Explorer, the Encoding option remains 'Auto-select' by Default.But this 'Auto-select' often does not shows the Unicode Character. (Atleast not in my PC). Set your Encoding option to 'Unicode (UTF-8)' to see বাংলা in Yahoo.


Configure Encoding Option: View > Encoding > [select] Unicode (UTF-8)


If you find it difficult to UnderStand then see the screenshot containing in Attachment.

Plz do notify that it works or not.

The new interface of Yahoo! Mail should not have this problem, I found that in the new interface the page HTML source has code that the page is encoded in "utf-8".

Yes, you are true. But I suffered this peculiar problem in IE6. In Gmail it shows properly all the time but in Yahoo sometime it problems though there are HTML source shows the Encoding method is UTF-8. Find the attachment.I checked again and found this result.

Strangely, it works now !



I did something with the View > Encoding > UTF-8, and Bangla is showing now. Although, the mysterious thing is : when I went to View > Encoding, I found the Unicide (UTF-8) already selected. There was a black round bullet on its left side. Nevertheless, I selected it (clicked) again.

AND NOW it works !! I don't know why. I don't know why it did not work before !

Beats me !!
