Hi, i am using windows XP sp2 and Avro keyboard v4.0.1

when i enable the "start with windows" option an entry with correct executable is added to HKCU/RUN.

But when i disable the option it does not remove the entry but replace it with another executable file.

For example , i have bitcomet v0.85 set up to run at startup, when i disable Avro's start up entry through its customize panel, it just replaces the Avro executable with bitcomet's. So when the systems reboots i have 2 instances of bitcomet running. What to do? Is it a problem with bitcomet or just a little bug in avro?

by the way , Avro is the best when typing bengali especialy using the phonetic part biggrin.gif i dont have to remember bangla keyboard layout.

Thank you Mr. Anjan Bhowmik for your report. Here, I'm clarifying the issue.

When you enable Avro Keyboard to start with system startup,
it writes a registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run,
in the string value Avro Keyboard, it writes the full path (e.g. C:\Program Files\Avro Keyboard\Avro Keyboard.exe).

But when you disable its, without deleting the value of Avro Keyboard, it replaces with blank path - "", at startup, windows doesn't load Avro Keyboard.

So, the problem you are facing is not with Avro Keyboard, probably your startup manager (or, any other program in your computer) is not allowing a blank entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and using another value there, most possibly, it is using the next value. If you delete BitComet entry using registry editor, I'm sure another software will start twice instead of it.

However, we will fix the problem in version 4.0.2, which is planned to be released within one or two days. biggrin.gif

This problem is fixed in the new release 4.0.2. smile.gif

hello mehedi

Rather than putting - in the value field
1. either put REM befoer the path (yes it works like basic) or
2. delete the whole key/value pair.

Alamgir Bhai,

Avro Keyboard 4.0.2 deletes the registry value safely, and this problem is solved in this release smile.gif
