First, I must express my appreciation for this Open Source project for Bangla. I believe that only an Open Source project can meet Bangla-speaker's requirements for a standardized characterset, namely Unicode. I have been following Unicode's progression since 1996. I was excited to see Alpona's use of Unicode for individual characters, but the conjuncts were actually implementing the private use area of Unicode.
At first, when I installed Avro, I couldn't get it to work correctly. I believe the fonts may not have been installed along with the program. I then downloaded the fonts from your Download directory, but the file "OTF_bangla_fonts.exe" would not install because it said that the file was corrupted. I tried downloading several times, but each time it said it was corrupted. I eventually found "open_type_bangla_font_installer.exe" and downloaded that. It worked well and installed the fonts for me. I also had a hard time finding the "usp10.exe" and "usp10.zip" file (both are used for the same purpose). They were in an area that required Forum membership. I nearly gave up when at first I couldn't get it to work. It would have been my loss! I now have disabled Alpona and Bijoy and am using Avro wherever possible (also recommending it to my friends).
In order to help other "newbies" install and use Avro, I thought it might be good to have both the "open_type_bangla_font_installer.exe" and "usp10.exe" download links included along with the main "setup_avrokeyboard_112.exe" download link on the Download Bangla Software page.
Maybe this could help others who want to try out your AWESOME Bangla utility.
Thanks!
