i am looking for a bangla typing software for linux (for Fedora Core/ Red Hat) which has a keyboard layout like bijoy. and i'm also looking for bangla spell checker for both windows and linux. do you guys have any plans to make something similar to Avro for linux.

At preent there is no plan for Linux. But who can say about future?

But a good new is, a spell checker is coming with Avro Keyboard (of course for Windows only)...

লিনাক্সের ব্যবহার বাড়ছে। মানুষ তার প্রয়োজনীয় সকল কাজ যখন স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে লিনাক্সে করতে পারবে তখন অর্থলোলুপ মাইক্রোসফটকে ছেড়ে ঠিকই লিনাক্সে চলে আসবে। অবশ্য এখন এমিউলেটর প্রোগ্রাম ব্যবহার করে লিনাক্সেও অনেক প্রোগ্রাম চালানো যাচ্ছে।

অভ্র-এর মতো চমৎকার একটি বাংলা টাইপিং সফটওয়্যারের কোনো লিনাক্স ভারশন নেই - চিন্তা করলেই দুঃখ লাগে।

অভ্র-এর লিনাক্স ভারশনের জন্য অপেক্ষায় থাকলাম।

Please make a Linux [rpm] of AVRO.

It may be possible, only if Bangla Bhai works...

Not imposible, but will take a lot time to port!

BTW Bangla Bhai told me or somewhere I read that there is a nice [built-in] editor [or like that] to make custom Keyboard mapping [that means Input manager] in linux.

But yes, It would be great If there is a AVRO for Linux!

There is a nearly 0% possibilities though. We think it is better to stick on what we are doing, and making further development for it.

And may be there could be a project for linux, this time we may go 'Open Source', this can lead some good guy to contribute....

It might take a long time to make a sofware like Avro in linux. But, If users only want fixed keyboard layouts. Then, I can give it a try with Java. Mehedi Bhai you can arrange a voting for this & Sakib Bhai please find your linux DVD

The truth is I even didn't try phonetic If I wasn't a developer and/or wish to contribute the community with help/tips etc

And a long long ago I tried to used with, It seems to me that phonetic keyboard means wasting time, leads to some bad typing habit and bla bla bla, bla bla bla

Oh, I won't mind If I have to spent a l-o-o-o-o-o-t time to make any phonetic layout, lolz, coder habits

For many reasons linux is my favourite OS. But i can't find any fonetic IM for it. I use FC6.
Is it possible to have Ovro for linux. I have good programming experience. If there is no plan
from Omicron Lab is it possible for others to implement it?
