QUOTE(chagol)
what about people without ms word?
Still I don't found any one who does not use MS Office. And very few use the
FREE "OpenOffice".
QUOTE(chagol)
you know its pretty expensive software. especially students. they can't afford such high priced software.. and people in Bangladesh most of whom are even in worse condition..
Basically I am a student. I use MS Office 2007 and it costs me
NOTHING!!! A friend of my friend bought a CD for TK. 40 and we, all the friends (at least 10) shared the software. and that is the reality in Bangladesh.

so i think it would help people if they have a free, full bangla word processor who cant afford expensive softwares.
What about the distribution cost? R u going to invest on it? Those who can afford an internet connection, obviously can afford a CD of MS Office.
If you compare between AVRO and Bijoy, you will found the problem. You can buy a CD of Bijoy (or can found its CD free with some particular keybord). You cannot buy a CD of AVRO and thats why it did not reach to all user. But do you think Bijoy is better than AVRO?
QUOTE(chagol)
why not make avro as an independent, full featured word processing sofware?
QUOTE(Mehdi Hasan replied)
There are some limitations in a keyboard interface which can easily be implemented in a word processor (such as, spell check or a "TRUE" auto correction which may support correctinh a phrase, document conversion from ASCII Bijoy+proshika+lekhoni to Unicode...)
I think it is a totally waste of time to make another "WordPad" type word processor.
There are a lot of things that we do need more than a Bangla Word Processor.
Yes obviously we will develop a word processor some day but we do need to do the other works first (eg. Spell Checker, Auto-Correction, OCR, Translator etc.).
Sorry, I do not support the idea.
