Hi,
I am a newbie enjoying this virtual world.I maintain a personal blog in bangla in blogger.com.
I have been using Avro key-board since last three months. It's really stunning! Lots of thanks to all related ones for this nice effort.

I get some problems with the 'dari' (bangla punctuation sign for ending a sentence) when I publish something in bangla encoded with UNICODE. BTW, I'm using Rupali, Unibangla and sometimes Vrinda.I use a PC with the japanese version of Windows. When I write a 'dari' in MS word it shows something like 'Hindi' in the bottom border whereas it shows 'Bangla' for any bangla letter and 'English' for anything like exclamation sign or comma.

When I paste the things written in Bangla in Blogger.com's notepad, 'dari' turns into a dot and in the webpage it shows a block or a dot in the place of 'dari'.

My question is...do the bangla fonts not support 'dari' or other punctuation signs??
I had a hindi font 'Mangal' before and I got to see the 'dari' in my webpage then, but when I removed the font all the 'dari' s turned into blocks.

Anyone can help me?? plz...

Dear sourov83,

Good to hear that you have a Bangla Unicode site. Why not post the link at 'Announce Sites' section....

Answer of your Q:

Bangla code page of UNICODE dosn't have 'DARI' because Devangeri [Hindi] has the same Char....That's why Font Developed for Bangla Unicode should have 'Dari' at Devangeri code page and It's better if they also have English Latters with all common symboles....[You got the answer why "MS word it shows something like 'Hindi'..."]

I lgnore using 'Rupali' or 'UniBangla' [and Sagar, SolaimanLipi] since a while because they rais problem some times....

Better if you try some other Fonts [i.e. Likhan, Akaas etc] and if you embed them don't forget to include 'Dari'...Such case happend for mis-embedding....

Also there are some starnge problem with IE 5x for Bangla Unicode where IE 6x works good....may be It's a reason of your problem...

Check It and lets us know the news...
