Kemon Achen? Ami Bangla sikhtechi aar avro keyboard byebohar korte shuru kortechi.

I have been having problems with my newly installed Avro keyboard software, because

short "e" and "i" are not input on left of consonant as they should. All of the other letters

as well as juktokkor work very well, but I just have this problem.

I am using Windows 2000 SP4 Japanese version and MS Word 2000 Japanese version.

When I installed Avro keyboard on another computer with Windows XP and an older version

of MS Word, I did not experience this problem, so I do not think it is merely due to use of

Japanese OS and software.

I look forward to your kind help!

Hello Tom, welcome to the forum! smile.gif

We didn't officially tested Avro on a Japanese version of Windows. At this moment I assume uniscribe engine of Windows/Office may be guilty. However, we have to be sure.

As you said, position of short "e" and "i" (AKA E-Kar and I-Kar) is misplaced while others are working fine including juktokkor.

Just do a simple test and let us know the result. It seems you are facing problem in MS Word 2000. What happens if you type in notepad (or wordpad)? Let us know. Screen-shots will be much helpful and appreciated.

I also need to know whether this problem occurs with all Bangla fonts or any specific one.

Waiting for your reply.
